Living in a city where you wouldn’t mind the high electricity cost of air conditioning is, in a word, cool, right? Plus, the natural mountain breeze blowing right at the door step is simply a great resolution to every irritating situation after a long day. And oh, did I already mention about the colorful culture and the cost-effective houses and condominiums for sale in Baguio?
Well, Baguio is not the country’s summer capital for nothing. Far beyond being one of the coolest places in the Philippines, the mountain city offers more than just a nice climate. While we have learned about the humble little treasures in Baguio from the previous article, let’s go deeper down to its colorful tradition. So, go out of the corners of your chosen Baguio condominium for sale and explore the beauty residing in the city’s diverse culture and tradition. Do you find yourself smiling whenever you see a bunch of beautiful flowers? Well, Baguio is a great place to appreciate these little pieces of treasures. When you are staying at one of the beautiful condominiums for sale in Baguio, it is with no doubt that you have at least seen few of the prettiest flowers strewn across the whole city. But it doesn’t stop there; celebrating Baguio’s Flower Festival is as easy as taking a peek outside your Baguio home. It was in 1996 that Panagbenga Festival started. Baguio was actually regaining itself from the 1990 7.7 magnitude earthquake that devastated the city. Since tourism is one of the main sources of living in the city, economic stability has also been shaken as an aftermath of the earthquake. Though rattled, the earthquake wasn’t able to totally break the hope lying within the hearts of the people of Baguio. It was Atty. Damaso E. Bangaoet Jr. that envisioned Panagbenga Festival with the purpose of cultivating hope that the city will eventually regain its beauty. Panagbenga is a Kankana-ey word which means “season of blooming”. Panagbenga Festival is a month-long celebration that occurs every February. It is a colorful festival that showcases ornamental products of the province. Colorful floats made from flowers are paraded on the streets together with the highly energetic street dancers and drum and lyre bands. For almost 20 years today, Panagbenga Festival remains one of the most celebrated festivals in the city that attracts not only the locals to join but charms people from all over the world. Panagbenga Festival truly is a season of blooming, not only for the different kinds of flowers you may find in the Benguet province but reminds everyone that the seed of harvest is planted deep within the heart of its gardeners. And this sets Baguio apart from other places. Aside from being a truly cool place to live (in terms of climate), there are also a lot of awesome activities to enjoy in the mountainous city. Those who would like to enjoy nature could paddle away at the rented boats in Burnham Park, or have the classic horseback riding experience at Wright Park. If you want some Baguio in you, immerse yourself into the culture and tradition of the ethnic tribes; the backbone of Baguio. All of these are but some of the proofs that Baguio is a place like no other. Of all the possible worthy experience, an investment on a property or condominium for sale in Baguio isn’t something that is wasted. And for me, I can’t wait to see Baguio again!
